Sabir and the Moonlight Football Match
One warm evening, Sabir put on his little blue football boots. They were his favorite boots because they had two shiny stars on each side.
"Time for bed, Sabir," said Mama.
"But I want to play football!" said Sabir.
"Let's play a special game first," said Mama. "A dreaming game."
Sabir lay on his soft pillow and closed his eyes. Soon, something wonderful happened. The moon peeped through the window and smiled.
"Hello, Sabir," said the moon in a gentle, silvery voice. "Would you like to play football with me?"
Sabir nodded and held out his little football. The moon rolled a soft cloud-ball across the sky, and Sabir kicked it with his starry boots. Whoosh! The cloud-ball floated up and made a fluffy rainbow.
"Goal!" laughed the stars, twinkling like tiny lanterns.
Then a friendly little owl flew down. "May I play too?" she asked.
"Of course!" said Sabir. "Football is more fun with friends."
The owl bounced the cloud-ball with her soft wings. Sabir passed it back. The moon cheered. The stars danced. Everyone took turns, and everyone got a chance to score.
"Sharing the ball makes everyone happy," said the moon.
Sabir smiled. His heart felt warm and full.
Soon his legs grew sleepy. The owl yawned. The stars blinked slowly.
"Goodnight, Sabir," whispered the moon. "You are a kind player and a wonderful friend."
"Goodnight, moon. Goodnight, owl. Goodnight, stars," said Sabir.
He hugged his little football close. Mama kissed his forehead.
"Did you have a good game?" she asked.
"The best game ever," said Sabir softly. "I shared the ball, and everybody scored."
And as he drifted to sleep, Sabir dreamed of rainbows, twinkling stars, and one big happy team — with him right in the middle, wearing his favorite starry boots.
